If you like bugs or want to learn more about stream ecology, you should participate in Maryland's annual "Stream Waders" program for biological stream monitoring.
To participate, you need to attend one of the free training sessions coming up in February and March. The dates & training locations:
- 2-10-07 in Washington College in Chestertown (Kent County)
- 2-24-07 in Frostburg State University in Frostburg (Allegany County)
- 3-03-07 at the Izaak Walton League of America (IWLA), Wildlife Achievement Chapter Facility in Damascus (Montgomery County)
This spring, Stream Waders volunteers like you will be monitoring the health of many tributaries of the Big Gunpowder watershed from Prettyboy Reswervoir all the way down to the Chesapeake Bay in southeastern Baltimore County.
